Question: Why do I need a product key for my map purchase and when do I enter it?

Answer:

Your product key is used to activate the map you purchased on your Garmin GPS. If you don’t activate your map, you aren’t able to access the new map information.

During the Map Update installation process, you will be prompted to enter the Product Key supplied to you with your installation disk.

If you downloaded your Map Update, your Product Key is located in the Map Downloads section of myGarmin.
