Question:  What do I do if my nuvi 705 series unit is no longer able to acquire satellites after displaying the message "Updating GPS firmware" or "GPS Update Complete" or this message repeats after a short time?
Answer:

If your nuvi 755T, 765T, 775T or 785T is experiencing any of the following issues:

  • No longer able to acquire satellites
  • Displaying the messages "Updating GPS firmware" or "GPS Update Complete"
  • The message "GPS Update Complete" repeatedly appears on your nuvi after a short period of time.

A software update is now available for you to update your nuvi to correct these issues. Please use our WebUpdater program to install this update.

Please Note:  If your nuvi will not power on when plugged into a computer, a home charger or a car charger as a result of these issues, please view the article My nuvi 755T, 765T, 775T or 785T will no longer turn on.
